Hazim Ansari is a successful entrepreneur and angel investor in the biomedical device sector. His portfolio of companies includes Endostim, Inc. (commercial in Europe and in US FDA trials), XCorporeal, Inc. (acquired by Fresenius Medical Care), Endochoice, Inc. (acquired by Boston Scientific), SynerZ Medical, Inc. (acquired), Aqua Medical, Inc. (submitting 510K), and Spiranetics, Inc. (submitting 510K). A patent lawyer by trade, Hazim is the founder and CEO of Novel IP, which drafts, prosecutes, and manages the patent portfolios of numerous established companies, ranging from Activision to Fresenius Medical Care to OSI Systems. He has negotiated licensing deals with over 65 universities and government agencies and co-founded Network Signatures, which was one of the largest patent royalty-generating revenue companies for the U.S. Navy. Prior to Novel IP, Mr. Ansari was an intellectual property attorney in O’Melveny & Myers’ Newport Beach and began his intellectual property career as an associate at Christie, Parker & Hale. He graduated magna cum laude from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles and received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University.
